Collect some twigs from outside and make these 8 pretty DIYs

Twigs might not be the most obvious supply for DIY projects, but with enough creativity, you can turn them into all sorts of beautiful things!
There’s no reason not to try some of the projects in this article — twigs are easy to find and they’re completely free. How about making a trellis for your garden or brand new piece of decor for inside your home?

1. Easy twig ball (h/t Julie Measures)
This is my favorite kind of project — it’s super easy to make, but the result is so pretty! All you need to make it is hot twigs and glue, but I think it would look even better if you dipped some of the twig ends in paint!
2. Twig plant markers (h/t Martha Stewart)
Forget about buying plant markers from the store — these look so much more natural! They’d look just as good in a windowsill herb garden as they would outside.
3. Framed twig art (h/t Cleverly Inspired)
If you have a pretty old frame you don’t have a use for, why not turn it into a creative piece of twig art like this one? This would look so good hanging on the wall in the living room!
4. Twig trellis (h/t Canadian Woodworking)
If you’re feeling extra-ambitious this weekend, you should try making a gorgeous twig trellis like this one! It requires much less precision and accuracy than other types of woodworking, so it’s great for beginners.
5. Fairy garden furniture (h/t The Spruce)
This isn’t the most practical DIY out there, but it’ll make your garden so much more magical. Kids will definitely love it, but even adults can appreciate how cute it is as well!
6. Twig flower pots (h/t Nini Makes)
This easy twig flower pot is the perfect way to display pretty spring flowers! It’s also a great way to upcycle an old plastic container.
7. Giant bird nest (h/t Empress of Dirt)
This giant bird nest is such a unique piece of outdoor decor! Your guests are sure to wonder whether or not it’s a real nest — it’ll be a great conversation piece when you host outdoor parties.
8. Starburst twig wreath (h/t The Painted Hive)
This gorgeous wreath would make a great decoration year round! It would be easy to customize it depending on the holiday or the season — how about adding a few sprigs of pine branch in the winter?
