Crafty Cooking In A Hotel Room

Frequent travelers know that it’s sometimes hard to get a decent meal in at a hotel. Sure, you can go out for a bite, but that requires you to empty out that precious wallet of yours. Some hotels offer continental breakfast, but that’s merely one meal of the day and is typically less than filling. Here’s one thing that most might not consider (or rather, choose to ignore) – you can cook in your hotel. Hotel cooking won’t result in a fine dining experience but it will help you avoid eating out, saving you some money and giving you the chance to create a healthy meal.

Natalie Tran from Lonely Planet recently visited San Francisco, and decided to film a brief video on how to cook in your hotel room, “No matter where I go in the world and no matter how beautiful the city is, I miss home-cooked food.” Admittedly, it’s hard to get the desired home-cooked meals while stationed in a hotel room, but Natalie has some ideas.
In the video below, Natalie goes over a couple of easy meals that you can cook in a hotel room, using only the equipment that is made available to her. You’ll be amazed at what she’s able to cook up. Would you try any of these the next time you’re in a hotel? Do you have any ideas for hotel cooking? Let us know in the comments section or on Facebook. If you found this to be a handy video, be sure to pass it along to friends and family!
