My garage sometimes looks like a graveyard of old tomato cages, and I know I can’t be the only one in that predicament! I’m not sure why I have so many of them, but every year the pile seems to grow just a little bit bigger.
Luckily, there are tons of fun, easy DIYs you can make with these cone-shaped wire towers. They can be transformed into everything from spooky Halloween decorations to gorgeous outdoor chandeliers. Let’s put our tomato cages to good use!
1. Festive light-up ghosts
It’s almost the season of ghosts and pumpkins, and these cute little ghosts would make the perfect addition to your porch on Halloween! Learn how to make them with the tutorial on Our Daily Doings.
2. Modern-looking plant stand
Tomato cages can be used for your indoor plants as well as your outdoor ones! These plant stands have such a chic, modern look, and they’re so easy to make. All you need is some pretty metallic spray paint, and you’re good to go!
3. Autumn leaf tree
Bring the gorgeous colors of fall into your home with these beautiful light-up trees! If you don’t have a fireplace, you could still make a tree or two to put in the corner of the room. Find the full tutorial here!

4. Outdoor chandelier
This rustic chandelier looks complicated to make, but it’s surprisingly simple. I especially love how the ends of the bottom boards have been dipped in glittery gold paint! You can learn how to make your own over on The V Spot.
5. Minimalist side table
What a cute way to add a pop of color to your room! This little table would also make a great nightstand or outdoor patio table, and it requires very little carpentry skill if you can find a piece of circular wood in the right size. You can learn more about the process here.
